The book "Glimpses of Psychiatry" arouse keen interest and curiosity in both under graduates as well as postgraduates regarding the subject. Whenever any faculty of other liaison departments have a look at certain relevant chapters into this book, they will definitely look at the other chapters or try to crack the crossword and MCQ, which serves the purpose of the book. However, it is neither a snap shot nor a substitute for a text book. So complimenting this as a text book may be difficult but it does provide valuable glimpse into psychiatry by connecting readers with more than 20 specialty.

Short articles which are devoid of complicated psychiatric jargon (formal thought disorder) make it easy to read for our friends from other departments. Big positive aspect of this book is the specialty articles written by subject experts of all the areas of the medical field, which shows the need for a liaison between all the departments of the medical field. This multidisciplinary approach is essential in treating the patient as a whole and reintegrating him back to the society as productive contributory member.

Myths and facts about psychiatry, crossword, and quiz which are parts of MINDS newsletter make it more of a magazine, where every reader has something to look into. But when this is compiled to a book form, it finds its place as a contributory book. Kudo's to the editorial team which has given opportunity for young academicians and psychiatry teachers to contribute to it, which in term boosts their confidence in writing articles and publications. Editorials are contemporary, thought provoking; In short, it makes the readers to rediscover virtues and values. Guest column by senior experts in the field down the memory lane makes any person in the field to stop and think in retro-mode. Medical fraternity should appreciate as this entire book is backed by exclusive website.

There is a need to include the contribution from psychologists and social workers. Articles are needed that can look into the ways, our students and PGs work in communities and villages, to take up the road less travelled. The book needs standardization like including reference pages and citations.

The editorial team should be commended for their unleashed efforts to bring out this book which should find its place among medical students and the doctors in all specialty.
