Dear Colleagues and Honoured Guests,

We all know by now that forthcoming 71st Annual National Conference of Indian Psychiatric Society (ANCIPS-2019) is going to be held from 31st January to 03rd February, 2019 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow is hosting this conference after a gap of 26 years.

The theme of the conference is “Mental Health-Nation's Wealth”. The theme has been chosen aptly in the present scenario which would discuss promotion of positive mental health and prevention of mental disorders. With good mental health of working force productivity will increase resulting in generation of more wealth and prosperity to the nation. The good mental health will also prevent nation's wealth by reducing violence, arson, accidents etc. The theme symposium will be delivered by Dr. Ajit Avasthi and Dr. Vivek Benegal.

This conference is going to be world class in terms of scientific deliberations. We hope to invite the best minds in psychiatry from India and around the world for brain storming scientific sessions to satiate the knowledge bank of all the delegates.

Lucknow is a city where its culture is reflected in its subtle fusion of sophistication and emotional warmth. The refined manners of its people make it different from other cities of India. The City is identified by its nazakat, nafasat, tahzeeb and pahleaap culture. There are number of historical monuments in the city to attract tourism. One of the added attractions will be Night Cricket for the 1st time in IPPL finals.

On 31st January, 2019 CME will be inaugurated in the morning. The speakers for CME are Dr. Kenkata Subramanium, Dr. Sudhir Kakar, Dr. E. Mohan Das, Dr. B.N. Gangadhar, Dr. Shaila Mishri (Australia) and Dr. Geetha Jayaram (USA).

After getting large number of workshops, symposiums, free papers and e papers from our honoured members, the organisers have created 14 halls for delivery of the scientific presentations.

Inaugural ceremony of the conference will be held in the evening of 31st January, 2019. The Chief Guest will be Shri Ram Naik Ji, Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Shri Yogi Aditya Nath Ji, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

The organising committee has invited many distinguished speakers from abroad and within India. To name a few are- Dr. Salman Akhtar (USA), Dr. Joseph Johar (Israel), Dr. Saul Levin (USA), Dr. Brian Martis (USA), Dr. Adrian James (UK), Dr. Helen Harrman (Australia) Dr. Rudra Prakash (USA). Dr. Devdutt Patnaik, Dr. Murali Thyloth, Dr. Bharat Vatwani and many more speakers from India will be making their presentations in front of more than 2500 distinguished delegates. We hope that all the scientific sessions will be very informative and brain storming.

Lucknow is well connected by Air, Rail and Road to all major cities of India. There are many other tourist attractions around Lucknow viz –Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayag (Allahabad), Naimisharanya (Sitapur), Agra etc.
